Swimming Pool Stain Treatment

Sometimes we need a little help removing stubborn pool stains on our pool surfaces. Using a pool chemical like Suncoast® Super Metal Control on a regular basis can help prevent new stains from occurring. All pool types are subject to pool stains, and they can occur at any time.

Suncoast® Super Metal Control is a pool stain solution and super strength sequestrant that removes many types of pool stains, helps stop mineral and metal deposits and helps aid removal of scale from pool surfaces.

Normal Maintenance:

Normal maintenance levels for Super Metal Control are 10-12 ppm (parts per million) or 20 ppm for scale and pool stain removal. It is important to monitor these levels in order to prevent staining in new and older swimming pools. Super Metal Control levels are depleted as it does its job. Your pool may require more or less Super Metal Control depending on the amount of contaminants in your pool. Adding 1 ½ oz. will raise the Super Metal Control level 1 ppm in 10,000 gallons. Have a sequest test performed.

Super Metal Control is designed to work under normal water balance conditions and a TDS below 1200 ppm. With a TDS above 1200 ppm, you should use the Ultimate Metal Control Plus Salt Solution.

Directions for Use:

Add one quart (32 oz.) of Suncoast Super Metal Control per 10,000 gallons of pool water. In problem water areas, two quarts or more may be required per 10,000 gallons. Ideally, Super Metal Control should be diluted in a bucket of water and added to a circulating pool. When using Super Metal Control for topicals in stain identification, it should not be diluted. Super Metal Control should be used when treating black pool algae to help soften and remove the hard outer shell which protects black algae cells.
