How to Get Rid of Yellow Algae in Your Pool
No one wants to swim in a yellow pool! This algae control process from PoolGear Plus is the most effective method for quickly getting rid of yellow algae in pools and helping to prevent it from coming back.
Step One: Adjust the pool water pH to a normal range of 7.4 – 7.6 and the alkalinity to 120 – 140 ppm.
Step Two: Add 28 ounces of Pool Super Shock per 10,000 gallons of pool water.
Step Three: Distribute four to eight ounces of Stop Yellow Algaecide per 10,000 gallons of water around the pool. Stop Yellow is a fast-acting chlorine enhancer that eliminates yellow algae, mustard algae, and minor green algae deposits. Stop Yellow Algaecide must be used with pool shock to be effective in getting rid of algae.
Step Four: Brush the pool walls and allow the pool filter to run continuously until the algae in the pool has been eliminated.
Step Five: Always vacuum after treating heavy pool algae growth, then clean the filter.
Step Six: Repeat Step Two after 48 hours.
For severe cases of yellow algae, call 1-888-718-7946 to consult with one of our Pool Care Experts.

Great article! I have found that once algae is gone, a good preventative treatment is a MUST. SeaKlear also offers and awesome 90 day algaecide:
